The 2023/24 season of the Vígszínház has started

On 12 September, the Vígszínház held a season opening press conference at the theatre's main stage. The first premiere of the 2023/24 season will be Molnár Ferenc's The Glass Slipper directed by János Mohácsi, while the Pesti Theatre will present the most popular Israeli playwright, Hannoch Levin’s tragicomedy “Krum” on 7 October, staged by Péter Valló. The Pinocchio directed by Tamás Keresztes, with songs by Dusán Sztevanovity and Gábor Presser will premiere on 9 December, while Intrigue and Love staged by David Doiasvili will be performed at the Vígszínház from March. At Pesti Theatre, Géza D. Hegedűs will stage Amadeus, while Csaba Horváth will stage Goldoni's The Liar. Péter Bornemisza's Hungarian Elektra will be directed by Péter Valló and György Schwajda's The Miracle is directed by Benjamin Dino.

"All of us are constantly presented with challenges and are made to re-plan our everyday life. That is why I would like to thank our spectators for their trust on behalf of the theatre. For the 2023/24 season, the Vígszínház has already sold more than 7,200 season-tickets, which exceeds the number of 2019, the last year before the pandemic. Thank you for being with us!" - said Péter Rudolf, director of the Vígszínház.
