Little Shop of Horrors
Director: Eszter Novák
horror musical
On the twenty-first day of September, humanity unexpectedly found itself faced with mortal danger. This fearsome enemy that threatened its existence appeared - as such enemies are wont - in the seemingly most innocent and ordinary place. First, in a small, secluded flower shop in one of the slums of New York.
The fantastic story of Seymour, the clumsy young botanist and his special plant, Audrey II, has kept audiences in awe and made them laugh since Roger Corman's 1960 low-budget, black-and-white film version. However, the musical parody based on the film, which was presented in 1982, already broke all records on Off-Broadway, then toured the whole world, and after forty years, in a new translation by Dániel Varró, it returns to the site of its premiere in Hungary, the Pesti Theater.
