Víg-Budapest concert2023. 03. 20.
Let's celebrate together the 150th birthday of Budapest and the 127th birthday of Vígszínház
1 May 2023 at 7 pm with an exclusive gala concert at the Vígszínház!
Countless great and popular songs have been written about the wonderful Budapest. Who hasn't heard songs about the old Buda linden trees, the women of Pest, the moonlit night on the Danube, the Liget, Józsefváros, or even that certain boathouse on the banks of the Danube? These deservedly successful hits capture the everyday life, joys, sorrows, moods and small events of the former inhabitants of our capital, and that is what the history of a city is made of, not just the great historical turning points.
Our company invites its audience to a musical journey through time as the final chord of the all-day Vígmajális programme. On the wings of songs known and rediscovered from the evocation of old Pest-Buda, we will fly through the common history of the city and the Vígszínház, with the help of great composers such as Imre Kálmán, Béla Zerkovitz, Mihály Eisemann, Szabolcs Fényes, Gábor Presser, and then we will arrive at GRUND, touching Tamás Cseh's Budapest.
We welcome you all to the joint birthday gala concert of Budapest and the Vígszínház on 1 May 2023!
Tickets for the concert go on sale on 22 March at 10 am.
For those who have a Vígszínház, Pesti Színház and Kombinált season ticket, the theatre offers pre-sale rights, so you can book by phone or in person from 20 March at 10 am.
